One injured after train collides with SUV in Cambria County

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Cambria County say one person was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon following a train versus passenger vehicle collision. 911 officials say the incident occurred just after 2 p.m. in the area of Krings Street and Eisenhower Blvd. in Richland. According to a witness, the SUV was reportedly stopped on the tracks when it was struck by a CSX freight train. Flaggers were also reportedly nearby, directing traffic, as that intersection has seen a recent increase in traffic due to a local detour.

Second victim files lawsuit against Woodward gymnastics camp, coach over sexual misconduct

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A second victim has come forward to file a lawsuit against a New England-area gymnastics coach over allegations of sexual misconduct which reportedly occurred at the Woodward Gymnastics Camp in Centre County. The new lawsuit, filed on behalf of a Canadian woman, claims that now 26-year-old Nathaniel Singer pursued an intimate relationship with a junior counselor, in 2016, when she was just 17-years-old. According to the lawsuit, the victim claims that other campers and staff members were aware of Singer's advances towards her and states that the camp rehired him despite his admittance to the alleged misconduct.

Secret underground tunnel in New York synagogue leads to brawl between police, worshippers

NEW YORK (AP) — A group of Hasidic Jewish worshippers were arrested amid a dispute over a tunnel secretly dug into the side of a historic Brooklyn synagogue, setting off a brawl between police and those who tried to defend the makeshift passageway. The discovery of the tunnel at the Chabad-Lubavitch world headquarters in Crown Heights prompted an emergency structural inspection from the city Tuesday. SIGEL – Residents are speaking out tonight in Jefferson County after a deadly house fire Friday that killed two people and injured one. Fire crews responded Friday morning to a call about a house fire in Heath Township. They note the amount of safety measures on their equipment to prevent injury or death. They say this includes ladder cages on silo’s, respirators, working with a partner, and air blowers to ventilate gasses from the crops. Dairy farmer Megan Hostetler says these precautions are easy to miss and can be why we see harvesting related deaths each year.
