University Park, PA (WJAC) — A federal judge has denied Penn State's request to dismiss a lawsuit against the university in which a former member of the Blue Band Majorettes claims she was repeatedly bullied and harassed by the squad's coach.
The lawsuit, which was filed in December, cites numerous Title IX violations by the university and its former majorette coach, Heather Bean, who resigned in 2022.

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Centre County town of Boalsburg claims to be the birthplace of Memorial Day with the first memorial service dating back to the Civil War era.
Boalsburg dates back to just after the Revolutionary War, when a member of the Boal family, a soldier, was given a parcel of land. When there was no money to pay soldiers back then they were given property.
Initially the town did not the share Boal family name.
Bellefonte, PA (WJAC) — Downtown Bellefonte is getting new artwork.
A one-thousand-square-foot mural, located along the 100 block of Allegheny Street, next to the Waffle Shop is nearly complete.
The mural was done by "Key Detail," from New York City, who have installed murals across the world.
According to Downtown Bellefonte Incorporated, the mural pays tribute to “National Air Mail and Bellefonte’s role in that rich history.”
The city also says that the mural will be officially dedicated, in a public ceremony, on June 28th, at the mural unveiling block party downtown.

Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — State police and the Indiana County coroner's office are investigating the death of a man at an Indiana County limestone quarry.
Officials say first responders were dispatched to Ridge Limestone Inc., located in Young Township, around 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say the man had reportedly become trapped in a limestone hopper.
Investigators say, despite rescue efforts, the man, who is an employee of the company, was pronounced dead at the scene.
