WJAC — “The pharmacy has always been the lifeline of our communities." says Pharmacist, Jackie Martella, after local pharmacy chain “Mainline Pharmacy” announced it’s closing most of its stores. She and others say they are feeling the impacts.
"It’s heartbreaking to see pharmacies close down in our communities. With the recent closure of the mainline chain, it’s sad.” Martella says. She says pharmacies are essential to the healthcare system, and says local based businesses like Mainline Pharmacy and Martella's Pharmacy have an advantage to learning about their customers on a personal level.
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — The Huntingdon County District Attorney’s office announced Tuesday in a press release the arrest of 32 suspects involved in two extensive drug rings operating in Huntingdon County.
The release said the arrests come after a lengthy and complex investigation with collaboration among the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and the Huntingdon County Drug Task Force.
“Good, solid law enforcement cooperation between my Drug Strike Force and Huntingdon County District Attorney Dave Smith and the Pennsylvania State Police led to these arrests and criminal charges filed today.
HARRISBURG, Pa (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources announced that beginning in 2022, there will be more pet-friendly campsites offered at state parks throughout the commonwealth.
“We’re getting the word out early that more than 130 new sites at six state parks will be ‘pet friendly’ next year because we know many of our campers like to plan their stays well in advance,” Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn said.
CENTRE COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Officials say the driver involved in a deadly crash in State College last year is now in federal custody.
Authorities say he was out of jail, on bail, while awaiting trial until just a few days ago.
On the night of Sept. 27th, police say Ahmed Alqubaisi reportedly lost control of his vehicle and hit and killed another student, 25-year-old Lovisa Arnesson-Cronhamre, who was jogging along Park Avenue, near Penn State’s campus.

Officials say Evan Miller was driving his 2006 Toyota Corolla in August of 2023 in Decatur Twp. before speeding off a culvert and into a home's second story.
Court records indicate that Miller had been driving under the influence, claiming that he tried to hurt himself after seeing demons and believing that he was a demon.
