PA couple charged in connection to 4-year-old boy's accidental shooting

Authorities in Westmoreland County say a man and woman have been charged in connection to the accidental shooting of a 4-year-old boy in Rostraver Township. Investigators say in July, police were called to a home for reports that the child had shot himself with a handgun. Police say the child was flown to UPMC Children's Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Authorities note that the child has since received "constant" medical care.

PSU Trustee meeting planned to discuss next steps in Beaver Stadium Renovation Project

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Plans for renovations at Beaver Stadium could be moving forward. On May 21st, a special meeting of the Penn State Board of Trustees has a topic listed on its agenda as "proposed project approval, Beaver Stadium renovation.” A $700 million renovation project was announced last year to primarily focus on the west side of the stadium, where luxury suites and other improvements would be added.

Clearfield County's child agency stressed from staffing issues, lack of facilities

The director of Clearfield County Children, Youth, and Family Services says that they have been experiencing staffing issues and due to a lack of placement facilities, a few kids have had to stay overnight at their office in downtown Clearfield. “CYS, we’re a 24-hour service and there’s no option to turn kids away," said Director Trudy Lumadue. A report from different county leaders throughout the state showed that more than 250 youth slept somewhere like a hotel instead of a licensed facility.

Hollidaysburg Area School District investigating video containing racial slur

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. - The Hollidaysburg Area School District is investigating a video posted to social media that contains racist language that appears to have originated from a student within the district. According to a post from the district, school officials said they have been in contact with local law enforcement about the video an are looking to take swift and appropriate action. Kroger gets approval for at-home COVID-19 tests

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WKRC) - Kroger is announcing it is among the first to receive emergency use authorization for a COVID-19 test taken at home. People cannot walk in and buy the test off the shelf. They must have a prescription and get them online through the Little Clinic. The at-home tests are part of a partnership with Gravity Diagnostics based in Covington, Kentucky. Gravity Diagnostics analyzes up to seven thousand COVID-19 tests a day for patients around the country.
