Altoona couple charged after overdosing with children in the home, police say

BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — An Altoona couple is facing felony child endangerment charges after police say they overdosed early Wednesday morning with children in the home. According to the Altoona Police Department, Colton Flannery and Rose Markle have both been charged with a felony and two misdemeanors. Police say they were called just after midnight to the 200 block of Willow Avenue for reports of an unconscious woman. They say dispatchers were told the woman had shallow breathing and that Narcan was given two times.

Middle school assistant principal arrested, linked to decade-old triple homicide: Report

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — An assistant principal at McAdory Middle School was arrested in connection to a triple homicide that happened in Georgia more than a decade ago. According to Jefferson County jail records, 45-year-old Keante Harris' was arrested Wednesday and charged with being a fugitive from justice. ABC 33/40's Georgia affiliate WSB-TV reported that Harris is one of four suspects. According to WSB-TV, in January 2013, a Union City police officer found an abandoned 2010 Dodge Charger along I-85.

Police investigating overnight vehicle break-ins in Ferndale Borough

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Likely more than a dozen cars were broken into Wednesday night in Ferndale Borough, according to police. The borough's police chief Adam Richards says they are still taking calls from people saying valuables, including money, wallets and phone chargers were reportedly taken out of the cars. Police say they are also investigating one car theft at this time. Officials say many of the cars were unlocked, as only about two were locked and broken into.

School district identifies teen killed after fall near YMCA camp

FORT HILL, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities have released new information regarding a teen's death after a fall near a YMCA camp in Somerset County. According to Somerset officials, a 15-year-old boy fell from rocks near the Cove Rocks on state forest property of Mount Davis Road. The incident happened near the Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp just before 12:30 p.m. Monday. The Norwin School District identified the teen as rising sophomore Nathan Kanczes.
