Man arrested after family Monopoly game turns violent, police say

TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — Police in Oklahoma said they arrested a man aftera family game of Monopoly turned violent. The Tulsa Police Department said John Armstrong booked into the Tulsa County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities said officers responded to a shots fired call on Saturday just before 6:30 p.m. The caller identified the suspect as Armstrong, adding that he chased her down and fired a shot at her and her father.

Punxsutawney Groundhog Club responds to PETA's request to 'retire Phil'

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (WJAC) -- The president of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is calling for Punxsutawney Phil to retire and be replaced with an animatronic version of the groundhog. The Inner Circle says it found out about PETA's letter from the media and adds that the idea of replacing Punxsutawney Phil with a groundhog with artificial intelligence is outrageous. PETA sent a letter to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club calling for Punxsutawney Phil to retire ahead of Groundhog Day.

Woman sentenced to more than 14 years in prison for conspiring to murder Connecticut mom

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — A woman convicted of helping her boyfriend plot and cover up the murder of his estranged wife, Jennifer Dulos, during contentious divorce and child custody proceedings in Connecticut was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison Friday. A state judge in Stamford handed down the punishment to Michelle Troconis in the 2019 disappearance of Dulos, whose body has never been found since she disappeared from her New Canaan home.

50 more Fine Wine & Good Spirits Stores can begin in-store public access on Friday

Harrisburg, PA — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board announced today that 50 additional Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores in counties designated in the yellow phase of the state's COVID-19 reopening plan will resume limited in-store public access. Beginning Friday, May 22, 2020, the additional stores will open while abiding by guidance for businesses issued by the Wolf Administration detailing social distancing requirements and other best practices in the interest of public health and safety.
