Grocery store chain GIANT to open new store in Benner Twp

CENTRE CO, Pa (WJAC) — Grocery store chain GIANT announced Friday that it is planning on building a new store to be located in Benner Township, Centre County, according to a press release. The new store will be built in the new shopping center located on the northwest corner of Paradise Road and Benner Pike. “The GIANT Company has been a proud member of the State College community for more than 30 years and we are excited to now extend our offerings to Benner Township,” said Nicholas Bertram, president, The GIANT Company.

Local couple reflects on disappearance of their dog 'Milo'

Cambria County, PA — Missing pets and animal cases on the rise in our region. This according to multiple residents, including people searching for a dog named Milo, in Cambria county. Chad and Paula Albert of Westmont, say Milo is a timid adopted shelter dog. They tell me Milo may have grown longer fur, as time passes without people seeing him. They say he was hit by a car on April 26th, while running from them at the intersection of Goucher street, and the extension of Luzerne street intersection, in Elim.

Man, teen allegedly stole thousands of dollars in PA Lottery coupon scam

UPDATE |CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Copies of search warrants obtained by 6 News are providing new details about the state police investigation into alleged thefts from the Pennsylvania Lottery Commission in Blair and Centre Counties. Investigators say, on Wednesday, troopers searched a residence along West Blade Drive, in PA Furnace, Ferguson Township, where they reportedly seized "large amounts" of U.S. currency and a cell phone in connection to the alleged theft investigation.

Parade kicksoff 2019 Clearfield County Fair

CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WJAC) — The Clearfield County fair is underway. The fair's live music performances always draw quite the crowd. This year, the biggest name on the list is "Kansas" who will be performing Saturday. On Monday, people prepared for the main attraction -- the parade. But this year comes with some changes. The fair board is now enforcing a rule that they say has been on the books for years: You are not allowed to throw candy from moving vehicles on the parade route.

A pastor at Solid Rock Church filed the complaint with Myrtle Beach Police Dept. on May 1 regarding a slew of social media posts and messages directed at the church following 30-year-old Mica Miller's passing.
